Ready to go!

The big moment is almost here! In these last few days before leaving for 6 months, we had some small stressful surprises that we had to deal with, and it was helpful that we both took time off from work a few days before our actual leave started.

This time also helped me disconnect my mind from work, even if I think that I could have kept working for a few additional days... workaddict!!!

I was also grateful that my company allowed me to step out for so many months and also that all the colleagues I spoke with were very supportive. I know it would not have changed our minds about our trip but the possibility of coming back to a job feels reassuring, even if it's not guaranteed.

Anyway, our bags are packed, our affairs are in order (I think!) and we are ready to go!

Our first stop is Porto, Portugal, the beautiful city overlooking the Douro River and home to the Francesinha and Port wine.
